Pacific Pearl - Lifou, Sunday

The Grill
Lifou is a Tender port which means you have to catch one of the lifeboats from the ship to the Dock at Lifou. It's not very far, about a 5 minute trip. You need to get a Tender ticket before you can leave the ship. We had breakfast outside on the Lido deck and enjoyed the beautiful views and yummy food!

Got our Tender Ticket!
After we'd finished brekky and fueling our body's for the day, we went back to our cabin to grab our towel, water and sunscreen, changed into our swimmers and then headed to deck 7 to collect our Tender ticket. They call out the numbers, so once you've got your ticket you just wait for your 'lucky' number to be called. We only had to wait about 10 minutes or so.

A nice quick trip and we were at Lifou!
Lifou, we made it!
Just to the left of the above picture is the wharf where the Tenders dock. We have been here before on our very first cruise but it's such a gorgeous place we didn't mind at all coming back. We decided to walk to the church on the hill as we didn't do that last time. The views are, not surprisingly, stunning. It is a bit of a climb but we just took our time, enjoyed the view and finally made it to the top. One of the downsides I guess of cruising is that generally where ever you go on a port stop it's going to be busy with cruisers. This was no exception. It's hard to really enjoy and take in the quaint church when there are a myriad of other people there but we did our best. It was well worth the walk up the hill plus it was needed after all those danishes!

The Pearl waiting for us

The church on the hill
After walking back down we headed to the other side of the dock and walked along the waters edge. There were some old ruins which looked like they had once been a restaurant and bar. Such as shame that it obviously didn't work - I bet know it'd be super popular with the cruise crowd.

Lifou
We enjoyed lazing on the beach for a bit. The water was so clean and clear but a tad nippy for us so we just dipped our toes in. We watched the Pearl spin around, it did a whole 360 loop, slowly of course but amazing to think that the tenders had to deal with that.

So pretty
We headed back to the ship, had a bit of lunch and then decided to deck chair for the remainder of the afternoon. Tough life. The V8's were being shown from the Gold Coast so we watched most of the race although the sound was turned down before heading to our cabin and freshening up for our evening drinkies in the Orient.

V8's on a cruise!

The Orient with Danny Black
I think one of the reasons I really enjoyed this cruise was the entertainer in the Orient. He was so fabulous and played and played, no quick breaks for him! Every evening we would head to the Orient for the sports trivia and the Danny Black before dinner in the buffet. So great! I really loved this part of our day :-)
